2018 is the year that 3DFS Software-Defined Electricity becomes well known. We have put an enormous amount of effort in over the last decade to get us to the point where we are today, a young company with an incredible technology, a bold vision and all of the tools and resources to make it happen.
To truly achieve our goals, we must work together with local organizations and companies to build lasting collaborations and partnerships that will assist us in reaching this next level of business. It is no secret that our vision includes creating many new companies and in turn numerous jobs in Pittsboro, all around North Carolina and beyond.
It is with great excitement that we announce that we have joined the Research Triangle Clean Tech Cluster. We would like to personally thank Emmit Owens for taking the time to meet with us, visit our facilities and dive into the details about what 3DFS is doing and will accomplish.
We are looking forward to building this relationship with the RTCC and anticipate to be quite involved in the coming years.
Building the company in North Carolina
The About 3DFS page keeps the record year by year. We formed 3DFS on October 10, 2010. In 2015 we announced a manufacturing facility at Chatham Park. Today both of our controllers, VectorQ2 and VectorQ5, are in production there.
In 2018, Duke Energy’s Joules Accelerator selected 3DFS as one of eight companies in its program. The Press and Case Studies page lists the selection with our awards.
Engineering and production share one facility. Electronics, embedded software and assembly stay in house. The manufacturing floor is now open to contract work in electronics, precision fabrication and materials science.
Where this stands today
The Partners page sets out how we work with partners today. It names three kinds of partner: suppliers, technical collaborators and market partners. On the Vendors page, new and existing suppliers send their details through one application, which starts a review, not a purchase order. Labs is where we work with outside teams on research, integration and joint development.
